5 Reasons You Must Try Flexible Dieting This Spring
The Spring season is so close I can taste it and I'm so excited for all that this season brings. My favorite part about the spring is enjoying all the good foods and cold drinks that are available! I love indulging in ballpark hotdogs, kettle corn and all the cold ice cream you can eat! I can enjoy all of these delicious foods without gaining a ton of weight thanks to flexible dieting!
Flexible dieting allows me to have a lot of, well flexibility, with my diet so that I can enjoy all the spring has to offer without ruining all the hard work I've put in all year long. Flexible dieting doesn't come with a list of dos and don'ts, which allows you to live a healthy life.
I want to tell you about the five reasons that flexible dieting works and why it's a good time to start this journey now!
Balance
One of my absolute favorite things about macro tracking and flexible dieting is that we don’t create a list of “good” foods or “bad” foods. Food is a way to nourish your body. There are definitely better foods for nourishment than others, but that doesn't mean those other foods are forbidden. There are no good or bad foods only food accountability.
Choice
Flexible dieting doesn’t have a meal plan. You don’t have to eat foods you can’t stand. Instead, flexible dieting leaves the food choices completely up to you! You choose the foods you enjoy. You decide how to prepare those foods. You choose when to eat them.
Food Freedom
One of the biggest benefits of food freedom is that you don’t have to binge anymore. My clients tell me all the time that they are so glad that they don’t go on food binges because they get to enjoy a little food they love every day! They aren’t being forced to suffer in the name of dieting.
Food Knowledge
I think it’s so important to know what you’re eating, where it comes from, how it affects your body and how it makes you feel. As you learn more about food, you’ll become better equipped to nourish your body. Macro nutrition and flexible dieting aren't about following a set meal plan. It’s about becoming aware, educated and using your knowledge to improve your life.
Sustainability
Macro tracking is 100% sustainable. I can say this because I’ve been doing it for years. You may start by calling it a diet, but over time it becomes a lifestyle. You aren’t being restricted to certain food groups. We aren’t living on shakes and we definitely aren’t pushing diet pills! You get to enjoy food for what it is and what it does for your body.
Should I start now or wait until the weather really warms up?
Living a healthy life should never be put off! We focus so much on living it up during the holidays and then "being good again" in January or after a certain point of time. The best part of flexible dieting is that is is a lifestyle. You can do it right now and still enjoy all the Holidays and different seasons.
If you want to get back into shape, lose weight, or just learn to eat better, then start right now! Don't put it off just because it's what everyone else is doing. Enjoy a better life today!
