Fall Recipes and Activities to Keep Pumpkin Spice Season Fresh
Fall is in the air! Well, as fall as Arizona air can get, but I'm sure those of you in other areas are enjoying falling leaves and the crisp air that fall is famous for.
I'm so ready to dive into fall recipes and activities! For most, fall is a time where we start to slip off of the healthy-living bandwagon. But I want to tell you, it's still the perfect time to stick to your goals. You aren't stuck inside yet and you don't have to binge on the Halloween candy! You can still succeed!
The best thing you can do to stay on top of your health and wellness goals this autumn is to prepare some fall recipes and activities ahead of time. That way when you're in a pinch you have a quick list to turn to. To make this even easier, I've come up with my own list of fall recipes and activities that you can steal from! Here are a few of my fall favorites!
Healthy, easy fall recipes
Fall is an amazing season for vegetables! All kinds of squash, brussel sprouts, kale, cabbage and even carrots are all in season during the fall months, which means it's so easy to eat all of your veggies!
I love fall soups because they're warm, comforting and a perfect way to sneak vegetables in without kids complaining! Here are a few great fall soup recipes:
They key to finding a good soup recipe is to look for all the veggies; the more the better. Try to find soups that also include a good amount of protein, that way you don't have to add anything else to the meal!
Get your pumpkin (spice) on!
I did say this guide would keep pumpkin spice season fresh, so here are some fun pumpkin-flavored recipes. A lot of these are deserts, but are made with healthier options, so they are easy to fit into your healthy lifestyle! You're welcome.

Fall activities to keep you moving
I love October because it's when all the fall activities are in full swing and you can still get out and enjoy the season! My absolute favorite fall activity is going to a pumpkin patch and picking out pumpkins! Pumpkin picking seems like a totally innocent activity that requires minimal effort, but if you think about it, you're actually doing a lot!
First, you're walking all around the pumpkin patch looking for the perfect pumpkin. BAM, that's cardio! Then, you're lifting pumpkins, carrying them to your kids to see if they like them, putting them down in search of a better one.
BOOM, weight lifting! If you do that four or five times, you'll have a good set of reps going on. Once you realize that these seemingly innocent activities do have a fitness aspect to them, it becomes easier and easier to find ways to get your family moving while still having fun!
Here are a couple more fall-inspired activities:
Corn or straw mazes - If it's haunted you'll burn even more calories trying to run away!
Apple picking - Think about having to carry all those apples around!
Raking leaves AND jumping in them - It's the best kind of yard work!
Football games - Watching football won't do much, but if you play a friendly game of touch football, you'll definitely have fun and break a sweat.
Watch the leaves change colors on a hike - Hike into a beautiful spot filled with trees changing colors and you'll have the time of your life.
